Rex has outgrown his family and needs more than they can provide – more space, more walks, more mental stimulation and more training. He has fantastic potential – he is intelligent and loving.
This handsome 3-year-old boy is looking for an energetic home and family. He is purebred, but has not been registered, ‘Red Fox’ colouring, not neutered but up to date with vaccinations etc.
He lives with children. He has regular weekend stays with another dog.
He did have surgery in 2024 for Hip Dysplasia. There are no sign of issues now but is treated proactively.
Rex greeted us enthusiastically but did obey commands to get down and to sit. He took treats nicely and played fetch. He can get over stimulated but settled back down when told to do so. He is clean in the house, sleeps overnight with no issues and is not destructive of anything other than his own toys (and dog bedding, if he gets bored). He sleeps on a raised canvas bed and is happy with that. He is not really lead trained – he pulls like a train, but the anti pull harness are effective on him. He needs more time, consistency and training. It’s a bit of a vicious cycle – bored – too lively to walk – not walked – bored.
