4/5 Years Old | Neutered | No Small Children | Pet Free Home
Gordon’s story is sadly all too common. As a Poundie, he was abandoned and taken to a council pound where his life expectancy would have been heartbreakingly short. Thankfully, Team Poundie stepped in, giving him safety, veterinary care, and the chance of a real future.
We’re not entirely sure of Gordon’s breed mix, though he appears to be a Greyhound cross. He carries some scars on his legs, suggesting a difficult past, which has left him a little nervous – and who could blame him?
At first, we thought he was around 2 years old, but the more we’ve got to know him, the more we feel he may be closer to 4 or 5. Gordon has shown some separation anxiety, but he clearly loves the comfort and reassurance of his carers. Like many sighthounds, he also has the instinct to stalk and chase, and would happily take off exploring if given the chance!
Despite his past, Gordon is a gentle, calm, and quiet boy. He doesn’t demand much – just kindness, company, and the chance to potter about and enjoy life.
He walks nicely on the lead and isn’t overly focused on people around him, but with time and patience, he will learn to trust and relax in human company. He doesn’t need hours of exercise – just some daily stimulation, gentle walks, and a consistent routine will keep him content.
Don’t be fooled by his soft nature though – true to his sighthound roots, he would happily give chase to smaller animals if the opportunity arose!
Gordon will need a special home that can offer him calm and security as he continues to rebuild his trust:
No children under 10, as we don’t know his history with younger ones.
A pet-free home with no cats, rabbits, or other small furries.
Ideally the only dog, though with careful introductions, another calm dog may be possible.
A peaceful home environment, with space to stretch out, relax, and plenty of safe areas to sniff and explore.
