No Children
Rosie – or possibly Emma, as we’re still not sure of her name – had a very close call. She arrived from the pound in early August with less than 12 hours left before she was due to be put to sleep.
She is a Labrador cross, though beyond that we don’t know much about her background. What we do know is that she is safe now, and finally has the chance to experience the life she deserves.
Rosie (or Em, as we’re affectionately calling her) is a very nervous girl right now. Life hasn’t been kind to her, but we’re determined to change that and help her rediscover joy, trust, and comfort.
We can’t yet say when she’ll be ready for rehoming – that will be entirely on her terms, when she feels safe and confident enough. You’ll be able to follow her journey on our Facebook page, and of course, we’re happy to answer any questions about her progress.
Welcome to Team Poundie, little Em.
Though still wary, Em is making encouraging progress every day. She has bonded with Kerry, who is caring for her in kennels, and recently even approached one of our volunteers to take treats – a huge step forward.
Her tail is beginning to wag more often, and she enjoys stretching her legs with a gentle trot around the paddock. It’s early days, but the signs are so positive: beneath her nerves is a sweet-natured, gentle soul who is going to make a wonderful companion for someone patient and kind.
When the time comes, Em will need a calm, understanding home where she can continue to build her confidence:
A peaceful environment without too much hustle and bustle.
Either a pet-free home, or one with a calm, mature dog who can gently show her the ropes.
No children, as she is untested with them and could be easily startled.
An owner willing to spend time getting to know her before adoption, giving her the chance to build trust at her own pace.
Someone committed to continuing her gentle introduction to a safe, secure, and loving world.
