Here is another Team Poundie boy! Meet Barney, the 3 year old Cockerpoo, with all his life yet to live!

He is a handsome boy, perhaps a little overweight under all his fur, but we don’t mind.

Apparently leading a normal life, he was surrendered to us some months ago. When we met him at the kennels though, all was not as we thought. He was terrified of everyone. No-one could get near him.  Something had certainly made him very scared of humans. We later learnt he had nipped someone and that’s why he was given up. So instead of looking for a home we began the long process of assessment and rehabilitation and love, kindness, consistency and patience – lots of it – and he is transformed. Kerry, who is caring for him has worked wonder with his confidence and building his trust. He now welcomes everyone with a wagging tail and licky tongue! He takes treats gently, is unfazed by strangers and generally a cheerful chappy.

He is now ready to look for his new forever home so deserves it, doesn’t he?! We’d advise no children and no other dogs so he can continue to develop his confidence in a calm and stable environment. He is only 3 years old so has all his life to live – can you make it a good one?

Barney is in north Shropshire, where he is available to meet. He is neutered and in good general health.
