Team Poundie is a dedicated dog welfare and rescue registered charity [1166962] based in Telford, West Midlands, with trustees and volunteers across the UK. Founded in 2016 by a group of passionate animal lovers, our mission is to save, support, and rehome dogs in need, ensuring they receive the care and love they deserve.
We started by helping dogs in local pounds—hence the name Team Poundie—where too many healthy, loving dogs faced an uncertain fate. Over time, we expanded our mission, providing direct support to struggling owners, rescue organisations, and individuals to prevent dogs from ending up in shelters in the first place.
✅ Rescue & Rehoming – We step in when a dog has nowhere else to go, taking them into pre-checked, loving homes whenever possible. If immediate rehoming isn’t an option, we provide medical care, rehabilitation, and foster placements until the perfect forever home is found.
✅ Emergency Support – We fund life-saving veterinary care, neutering, food, and shelter for dogs in crisis, helping both rescue organisations and individuals struggling to care for their pets. We also have access to emergency kennels across the UK to protect dogs at risk of being euthanised.
✅ Preventative Welfare – We don’t just rescue—we work to prevent dogs from ever reaching a crisis point. From offering financial assistance for neutering and medical treatments to helping owners keep their beloved pets instead of surrendering them, we tackle the problem at its root.
✅ Transport & Logistics – With our own rescue van, we transport dogs safely to new homes, rescue placements, or veterinary care, saving thousands in transport costs and helping even more dogs in need.
