2 Years Old | Neutered | No Small Children | Pet Free Home
Otis is an adorable 2½-year-old miniature Dachshund with a big personality packed into a little body. Sadly, he’s not coping well with the arrival of a new baby in the home. Having always been the “kingpin,” he’s reluctant to give up his crown. His family are heartbroken but have made the brave and loving decision to rehome him so he can be truly happy.
Otis is full of life and fun – he adores his toys and loves nothing more than being chased around with them! However, he does guard his favourites, so games of “swapsies” are needed to take a toy away.
Children tend to make him anxious, so we are recommending a child-free home. He’s also not keen on other dogs – in true Dachshund style, he’s more of a “bark first, ask questions later” character. For that reason, he’ll need to be the only pet in the household.
Otis is neutered, in good health, and currently based in Shropshire.
When we met Otis, he showed his loving side right away – coming in for cuddles and happily taking treats. His curious nature shines through in new situations. We tried a game of fetch, and while he loved the chase, once his favourite ball was in his mouth there was no getting it back!
Otis is affectionate, cheeky, and playful – a typical little sausage dog with all the quirks that make the breed so loved.
Otis is looking for a home that truly understands and appreciates the unique character of Dachshunds. He’ll need:
A child-free home (no under 12s) where he feels safe and relaxed.
A pet-free environment, as he likes to be “top dog.”
A family who are home much of the time to give him the companionship and attention he thrives on.
Plenty of playtime, walks, and snuggles on the sofa.
