Meet Bear

5 Years Old | Neutered | Child Friendly | No Dogs | Not Cat Friendly

Bear is a gorgeous, easy-going boy with so much love to give. This lovely lad found himself in rescue through no fault of his own, and although he’s been nothing but patient and well-behaved during his time with us, he’s longing for a family to call his own.

At 6 years old, Bear is a calm, kind-hearted companion who’s ready to bring joy and loyalty into the right home.

What Our Team Says

Our team and volunteers adore Bear. He’s what we call a “green dog”, meaning anyone can walk and handle him easily—a huge testament to his gentle and friendly nature.

He’s brilliant with new people and other dogs, and his good manners shine through every day. He’s crate trained, toilet trained, and settles beautifully, whether in his kennel or in a home environment.

Their Personality & Progress

Bear has been an absolute superstar while in our care. His recall and general obedience are excellent, and he has lots of doggie friends. He often joins group walks and enjoys socialising, though, like many dogs, he appreciates his space and doesn’t like other dogs getting too close to his face. He’s not reactive but will calmly correct another dog if they cross his boundaries.

He’s not food or toy possessive and takes treats gently. Bear’s also fantastic with children but, as always, respectful boundaries need to be maintained—especially around his food, sleeping space, and personal time.

Bear is playful, affectionate, and loves a good cuddle. He’ll happily curl up for a snooze after a walk or play session. He truly thrives in a calm, loving home where he can relax and be part of the family.

The Home They Need

  • A loving family who can give Bear the calm, respectful home he deserves

  • A home where children understand and respect his space

  • Owners who will advocate for him when he’s around other dogs and give him the confidence to relax

  • A secure garden for him to explore and enjoy

  • Bear would love an active yet laid-back home with plenty of cuddles and companionship

  • He could potentially live with another dog, but careful introductions and respect for his space are key

After waiting patiently for his forever home, Bear is more than ready to start his next chapter. He’s a kind, loyal dog who will be a wonderful addition to the right family.
